Have you ever thought about living a life that you don’t need a vacation from?
That was me all day every day. I did everything “right” just like I was taught. Go to school, get good grades, go to college, get a good job, get married, buy a house, have kids… the only thing I didn’t have was the white picket fence. Then I found myself with this great life making “great” money as an Engineer but hating what I do. I had been working in corporate America for 20 years and for 10 of those years I actually had to drag myself out of bed to go to work. I even developed migraines as a result! I knew there had to be something else out there for me. I couldn’t imagine working until I was 65 or is it 70… they keep moving the retirement age right? I wanted a life that I did not need a vacation from.
In 2014 I found myself divorced, an empty nester and still not happy with my job. I made a decision it was time to do something for me…but what? In 2015 it all came together. Around the time I left corporate America, a friend invited me to a business presentation, that she called a “travel party”. I declined the first 2 invites but on the 3rd invite I went just to be a supportive friend. I smiled and talked as we drove over but in my mind I was saying to myself, “whatever they’re sellin’, I’m not buyin’!”
When we got to the house a woman did a presentation. She talked about traveling the world and being able to save or make money on travel that I and people around me was going to do anyway. Well that sounded great! Then she went to the 2nd part of the presentation and I saw numbers and people and levels and I tuned out. I had been exposed to other Network Marketing or MLM business models before and definitely was not interested. At the end when I chatted with the presenter and told her I was going to be getting married (yep again) in Jamaica, she said I could earn income on the trip that we were going to take anyway. I bought my business that night and ended up earning $3,000 on my own destination wedding! My plan was to just focus on having fun, making money and traveling until I figured out what I wanted to do with phase 2 of my career. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Those people over there doing the network marketing side of the business seem to be having fun AND making real money at the same time, more importantly, residual income. The light bulb went off and I said, if I can make corporate America money by helping people, traveling and having fun… show me how!! I named my team “Never going Back”, I saw the vision of what Network Marketing could do for me with the right team and right product and I’ve never looked back.
My Road to Financial Freedom and Time Freedom
I realized quickly that to get the results that I wanted I had to treat my business like a business. The flexibility allowed me to set my own working hours, work from anywhere and travel. My first year of being in business I was traveling so much, Cayman Islands, Vegas, Jamaica, and Miami just to name a few places, people started asking, “what do you do and how can I do it too?” I invited them to check out the details and they got started. Just by me being me, genuinely telling my story, people started to join my team because they had the same or similar desires. I realized that as I continued to help people, my bank account continued to grow! I ranked in the top 1% of my company within the 1st 10 months all while doing something I loved, traveling and helping people.
Life Will Always Have Challenges
Unfortunately, life will hit us when we least expect it. End of 2018, all within a 12 month period, my mom had a heart attack, I went through a divorce and my beloved brother passed away. The time freedom I had, allowed me to work from my Mother’s bedside as we nursed her back to health. Even though I had lost a stream of income in my household, the financial freedom allowed me to not have to go back to corporate america because my “Profit From Anywhere” business income was more than enough to compensate for the loss and the personal freedom allowed me to take time off and be with my family when we needed each other most. The best part is that I had a team that was there for me every step of the way! I’m so thankful that I’ll never have to be with a person or in a place where I am not appreciated or celebrated again.
What’s Happening Now…
Life is a true Blessing and I am Grateful for being able to live life on my terms! I’ve said bye-bye to corporate America, traded in those migraines for airplanes and I’m able to show others how they can do the same. After only a few years of working hard, I was able to actually live off of the residual income from my home based network marketing business alone. Even when the economy took it’s biggest hit in centuries, my residual income continued to flow in. I still work hard (if you call working from the beach hard) but I love what I do and I am so glad that I followed my instinct to go for it and become an Entrepreneur in the Travel Industry.
